Cisco to showcase power of AI at GITEX Tech Week

At GITEX, Cisco presents its latest set of technologies to support the Middle East path towards digital transformation. At a time of increasing pressure to adopt digitalisation, these innovations aim to help public and private providers in the region adopt cloud-based solutions. Cisco will exhibit its technologies under the theme "Secure and Intelligent Platform for Digital Businesses" at GITEX 2018, from October 14 to 18, 2018, at the World Trade Center in Dubai.

"Recent technological advances have significantly improved the capabilities of machine learning and artificial intelligence systems (ML / AI). "As a broad category of techniques and solutions, ML / AI has found many attractive applications: from chat-bots in customer service to personalized advertising in smart stores, even self-driven smart transport," said Shukri Eid, Managing Director for East. Region, Cisco Middle East.

"Cisco is providing the basis for digitization. Through our unique and comprehensive understanding of the data, we have the opportunity to completely unleash the power of the network, obtain useful information, protect our customers and accelerate innovation. "ML / AI technologies are already playing a key role in delivering the secure intelligent platform for digital businesses," concluded Shukri Eid.

The Markets and Markets research firm estimates that the AI market will have a value of $ 5.05 billion by 2020. From the data centers to blockchain, AI, IoT and big data, the world is undergoing a paradigm shift to digitalization . ICT solutions with the cloud and business computing in the core are the basis of this digital transformation.

At GITEX, Cisco will take customers on a connected journey based on its secure and intelligent platform for digital businesses where digital innovations come to life through five pillars that include:

• Reinventing the network: due to digitization, networks are more important than ever, but they have never been under such pressure. The network industry is facing a new era due to the introduction of networks driven by intention. ML gives us the possibility to analyze large amounts of network data, from telemetry to traffic patterns, and understand what is an anomaly and what is an optimal network configuration. This results in a network based on intention, which is always learning, adapting and protecting. The network will redirect traffic on its own and be cured of internal shocks, such as device malfunction and external shocks, such as cyber attacks. The network based on Cisco's intention is the result of years of research and development to reinvent networks for the future.

• Drive a world of multiple clouds: Cisco brings together networks, security, analysis and administration, and offers cloud solutions that span a world of multiple clouds. Whether it's a private, hybrid or public cloud, or any combination of these, Cisco allows customers to adopt a multi-cloud world by simplifying the way customers connect and protect their clouds.

With the help of ML, we aim to provide a unique user experience through the clouds, including a policy and a security instance by learning user preferences and application performance on public and private cloud platforms , for trouble-free operation and without complications.

• Unlock the power of data: Cisco provides visibility into network data and focuses on providing data and information to support use cases ranging from infrastructure optimization to security threat intelligence. We offer our clients the ability to obtain value from the data that is executed in their network at the moment they have more value.

• Enabling the experience of employees and customers: Cisco collaboration technologies have the ability to connect people, teams and customers. AI is integrated into our collaboration portfolio and the experiences of our employees and customers through simplicity, automation and optimization, with full contextual knowledge of what is happening on the network.

• Incorporation of security in the fabric of the network: security is fundamental for everything we do ... from the cloud to the final point and the network. The more variables we can see, the more correlations we can draw through ML, and the faster we can detect something unusual that happens, investigate and quarantine the actors, applications or bad devices.
